WonFest Summer Touhou Project Resin Kits.

It been a few weeks since figures companies began announcing what figurines will be on sale during the Wonder Festival (WonFest), including the WonFest exclusive figurines..

Tokyo Hunter was kind enough to share what figurines will be on sale there and some of them caught my attention, especially the Touhou Project character figurines of Reimu Hakurei and Marisa Kirisame..

Well, I think this is my first time seeing figurines from the Touhou Project series but I think that were more of them before these..

However, they come in resin kits version, not PVC which is a no-no from me.. Reason stated below.. Anyway, here are a preview shots of both figures:

Well, even though I like how they look, I am not interested in buying them.. Reason is not about money but it is due to them being in resin version..

I'm not into resins for a long time because I am not those type that can be extra gentle with figurines.. So I fear my hands might lose its grip and result in the resin figurine to drop and break.. :(

I hope there would be a PVC version of any Touhou Project characters which looks great, especially Reimu Hakurei.. ^^

How about you? Do you still prefer to buy a figurine if it is made of resins instead of PVC??

  1. resin kits are expensive as it will not have leaning problems like PVC. but as u mentioned, they might break if mishandled. and resin needs to be painted. how it turns out will depends how skilled the painter is.

  2. The figures don't look true to the illustration :\ I like them in the illustration more ^^;

  3. @ gordon: Well, this can be placed as one more reason for me not to purchase resin kits..

    @ mizunaga: Yeah, they do not look the same as the original illustration.. I prefer if they follow their looks from the Scarlet Weather Rhapsody game.. ^^
