Uber Loots from Games Convention Asia 08

After a few hours coming back from the 2nd day of Games Convention Asia (GCA) 2008, I managed to sort out the loots from all the freebies me and my brother got during the games convention.. Well, this is pretty much what we got for the past 2 days, ranging from games to stationary..

Our parents got a shock when we brought home the freebies.. First up, we got these games from just registering our names to get the pass for public access.. Standard procedure which just began this year..

Anyway, games above; Tabula Rasa and Guild Wars: Eye of the North are Pre-Order/Pre-Release Bonus Pack so not that amazing.. But the good thing is that at least I get to try out Tabula Rasa MMO.. ^^

Next up, we got the freebies from countless booths.. I have 2 notebooks, 1 calender and 2 small "Sengoku Musou" file holder..
Other than just "Tabula Rasa" and "Guild War", there are other free-games that comes with the goody bags from various companies.. This yeat, there are so many games that are given to us compared to last year.. xD
Last but not least, we've got a Gunbound mousepad, 2 small pens and a "WWE Smackdown" handphone strap..

Well, it took us awhile to sort of the loots from the rest.. I think it will take us another longer time to pack them up somewhere nicely without making a huge mess.. My parents hate messy areas..

I am going to go for today's GCA08; 3rd day straight for me and my bro, Infestor51.. This time however, there are cosplayers who will come down and showcase their outfit.. There will also be a cosplay competion held at 2 - 3.30pm later today..

Please do come down for GCA08 today as today is the last day for GCA08 and the next one will be next year.. ^^

Games Convention Asia 2008 (Games)

Another year means another event has just arrived.. Well, what event am I talking about?? Well, it is the Games Convention Asia which once again is held at Suntec City Convention Centre from 18th-20th September.. This is an event I must not missed out.. ^^

Well, as the title of the event sounds, it is generally showcase anything to do with games; PCs, Game Companies, Online Games, Pre-Released games, etc.. For a start, here are some of the many companies that have joined in making this convention a success..

EA and Nintendo, some of the few game companies expected by many to be in GCA08..

As being a newb to this convention, I went to Electronic Arts (EA) booth to check out some of the games that are already out and also some pre-released games that let users try out before the full release later on..

I get to try out my first EA game in GCA08 which is "Dead Space"; a very sadistic-killing sci-fi game where decapitating an enemy is a MUST to prevent them from backstabbing you..
Next up is "Mirror's Edge".. Well, nothing much to say except that you do jump over/under obstacles and avoid getting shot by police through the art of Parkour..

The game was a demo so need to play the full version to see the full review..

Then there are EA Sports games which I just looked at.. I can say that graphic has improved over the years for such sport games.. Moving on.. :P
"Crysis Warhead", a sequel to "Crysis" is another interesting game to play.. I had a blast killing enemies using my character's abilities.. I can even hold a jeep and throw at a horde of machingunners.. xD
Then we have the "Need For Speed: Undercover".. Looks quite similar to "NFS:Carbon" but at least graphics has improved.. Sadly, this demo only have 4 missions to play.. After that it is just free-drive around the city, thats all.. o.O

Another game I expect to be good..

Now, this is a game I was waiting to get my hands on for GCA08.. It is very fortunate that EA decides to put 2 booths for Red Alert 3.. Even though it is in beta, there is an online-play where you can pit yourself with other people online..
The best part about this demo is that all units and buildings are at your disposal, no cuts, no negative stuffs.. I played against my bro, Infestor51 in this game and I emerged victorious.. \m/
The graphic and detail is awesome.. The water effects is amazing, looking at the waves afecting the position of the ships, even if they are stationary..

After satisfying myself with all those EA games, I made a move to check out the other booths that are available during the convention..

First up was a long stretch booth of so many online games set up by Cherry Credit, a company which allows you to purchase game cards to buy cash items for the games they service.. ^^

I heard that the number of games 10-fold from 5 games last year to 50 games this year... Thats freaking alot.. xD

This is supposed to be a tournament area for pro-gamers to battle it out to emerge as champion.. Unfortunately, I was not in the area or was busy playing game to notice when the tournament started..
From here on, I shall let you see the res of the good pictures I took during the convention.. Enjoy!! ^^
Me and Infestor51's friend, TX playing the latest game on X-Box360 and PS3; "Star Wars: Force Unleashed".. It came out just on the first day of the convention itself..

The best Star Wars game I've played ever.. The game is pretty imba but still fun.. ^^

Lonely September Cleaning

Another season sets in and I am feeling abit stressed out.. Apparently I cant find my receipts for the GSC 1/8 Hatsune Miku and 1/8 Beats Haruka.. Thinking they might be in the piles of rubbish books/files, I went ahead to start my first Autumn-Cleaning..

But looking at that makes me decide that I had to clear up any trash so that I wont misplace anything else in the future..

Man, that looks messed up..

Well, it wasn't hard getting those junks out of my shelf.. The hard part was sorting out the real trash from the rest..
Among those trash I did find some stuff worth keeping, for a longer while that is.. One example is this; a guide book for the Singapore Toys & Comic Convention and 2 Tofu-man toys..

Wanted to give the toys away but there were no takers.. Pity.. Well, if anyone wants it you can PM me via chatbox..

Next up is these 2 Granado Espada Invitation Card.. Yeah, you heard me right.. These cards were given for the launch of the game how many moooons ago.. The launch party was held at Zouk and well, I didnt get to enjoy the party..
The contents of the envelopes... The card was well-made.. Too bad the game didn't catch on with everyone, thought the OST was good.. ^^

Now BEHOLD, I recently discovered my very old book back in the primary school days.. It was my Gamefaqs of the old days.. Back then, friends kept asking me the cheat codes for alot of games.. This was my secret weapon back then.. xD

Well for example, I scanned this page filled with Age of Empires 2 cheats.. Well, I doubt anyone is still playing this game when there is AOE3..

So after sorting the trash from the rest, I placed the trash into the plastic bag provided.. Well, the trash filled up about 3 small trash bags..

Seriously, I just realised that I have been keeping too much junks in the house.. x.X
I did summon help from Sword Impulse and Force Impulse to do the sorting for me.. Doing all this work all by myself will take hours to accomplish.. xD
After 1 hour of mass cleaning and sorting and with the help of the Impulses, I have finally managed to clear up alot of spaces from the shelf..

This means that I have enough space to place my figmas, especially Figma Hatsune Miku.. Well, thats all I have for today.. And yeah, I finally found my 2 receipts for the 2 figures.. ^^

So how about you?? Do you do your Annual Cleaning of your room?

As for now, I think I better take a rest from all of that work.. Too much energy was drained during the 1 hour period.. :(

Too Hot To Handle?

How hot can one person endure on a hot surface? Well, wait no further.. Apparently the guys from the Japanese television show "Lincoln" get to try it out for us, testing whether they can endure for very long on hot surfaces found on items that you can surely find out in the streets like the bonnet of a black-coloured car.. ^^

SPORE Launch Event at Funan

Just came back a few hours ago, bringing home 2 packages from the event itself; the SPORE Launch Event at Funan IT Mall at City Hall.. As avid gamers, I went there with my brother, Infestor51 on our quest to get the free goodies (Like we always do)..

So we arrived at the event at about 11am where we got to try out the full release of the game provided there (there were 5 stations to try out the game)..

So what is SPORE? Well, for a start, is a game by EA Maxis where player is able to control the evolution of a species from its beginnings as a unicellular organism, through development as an intelligent and social creature, to interstellar exploration as a spacefaring culture...

Well, after playing the game like 6 hours, I got the hang of the game.. I so far managed to reach the Civilization stage where my creatures are able to capture or ally with other cities..

Cute right?? xD

I particularly like the vehicles creation mode.. I can make my own vehicle anyway I like it.. This is my prototype vehicle for the SPORE game.. It was called "Icarus"...

Now that is EPIC vehicle..

So other than just going there to solely play the game, we were there to collect our goodie bags/package from the event itself..

Due to the fact that we dont own a XBox360, we are selling away both NFS:PS away.. 1 of them is already in the sales process..

UNIQLOCK, The Madness of Time

Recently, my bro; Infestor51 got a new screensaver on his laptop from his friend and he decided to show what it was.. Thinking that it was just some plain old screensaver that anyone can make, I wanted to take a quick glance and then go back to my own work..

The quick glance turned to a long stare as I watched the unique screensaver.. The screensaver is called "UNIQLOCK" or simply known to some, "UNIQue-cLOCK".. It is an viral advertisement by UNIQLO (meaning Unique Clothing), a Japanese casual wear designer, manufacturer and retailer...

Well, looking at the picture above, YES, it has women dancing along and doing things in sync with the music.. The first five seconds will have you looking at the time ticked by while the next 5 seconds will have you looking at the women doing stuff.. This is a repeated cycle which is IMO quite interesting..

Well, it doesn't really mean that you will see the same dance moves over and over again.. The dance moves will eventually change over a period of time.. Lets take a look at examples below:

At 12.30PM:

The women are enjoying with their dances..

At 6.59PM:

The women are still dancing happily with the music.. ^^

However at 12.25AM:

The women are fast asleep in the library.. Kawaii~~ xD

Now let us move on to the next section of this unique screensaver.. Why is this called a viral advertisement? Well, for a start, it already has 3 fashion seasons for the screensaver.. What do I mean by that? Lets take a look shall we?? ^^

They released their first UNIQLOCK (Season 1) on 15th July 2007 showing the women wearing Dry Polo Shirts..
The next UNIQLOCK (Season 2) was released on 1st October 2007, this time with the women wearing Cashmere Knit..
And currently, the UNIQLOCK we see this time is the 3rd Season which have them wearing 20 Colour T-Shirts..
