Disney finally stepped out of US and made their move in Japan to make their first Japan anime. Titled "Fireball" (not sure of the reason for the name), the show is targeted at Japanese audience as a start to Disney's new animation business in Japan.
Set in the far future on a distant planet, the short toon will depict the comic adventures of a little rich girl, Drossel aka Hatsune Miki (Mickey)
and her robot servant, Gedächtnis.
Partnering with Toei Animation, one of Japan's anime powerhouse, and two other Japanese companies to produce cartoons tailored to Asian tastes. the series is planned for 13 episodes running at less than 2 minutes each. Sadly, because of that, there isn't an OP and ED..
After watching the first 4 episodes, I must say some of the jokes are quite funny while some of them didn't make me laugh. But I'm ok with it since this is the first time Disney want to tap onto Japan’s pool of animation talent and advanced computer graphics technology instead of outsourcing from other countries.
Those interested can watch it at Youtube here. Currently the raw is in episode 7 though subbed version is only up to episode 4.. -_-"
However, the problem is that Disney will delete episodes that are 2 episodes older than the current episode.. Let's say if it is in episode 7, episodes 5 and earlier will be deleted.. (Wow, I wonder why they do something like that..)
